Voluntary activities - preventing infringement is urgent
In order to reinforce the children's awareness of self-protection and protect themselves from sexual abuse, the chronicles Department of the college organized 8 volunteers to come to Taiping Experimental Primary School in Yucheng District of Ya'an City on November 29, 2021, where the theme activity of "protecting girls and taking care of our bodies" was launched. The activity was held smoothly.
The purpose of this activity is to teach children about their bodies and how to protect themselves, so that children can learn how to deal with violations calmly. Volunteers also held a lecture for this purpose. When the volunteers came to the school, the teacher warmly greeted the them and led them into the class where the activities were carried out. In this way, a popular science class of caring for body knowledge interspersed with games was launched.
First, volunteers let the children know their body through a simple game, as well as let them know what is the private part of the body. Then, the volunteers thought the children which behaviors belong to violations and how to prevent and deal with violations. During this period, they also had a classroom interactive Q & A session with the children, and gave children candies as a reward, which greatly boost the enthusiasm of the children. Finally, the course ended with a wonderful game session. Volunteers and children played a game of talking back together, and the atmosphere was very warm.
This volunteer activity not only improved the teaching ability of volunteers, but also a good opportunity to popularize science to children, and effectively improved the children's awareness of self-protection.
