The College of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering was founded in March 2014 and originated from the department of Water Conservancy and Architectural Engineering, College of Information and Engineering Technology, Sichuan Agricultural University. The college has four undergraduate majors: Agricultural Water Conservancy Engineering (established in 2001), Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering (established in 2008), Agricultural Architectural Environment and Energy Engineering (established in 2000), Energy and Power Engineering (established in 2018).

The college has 1 scientific master’s program of secondary discipline, 1 Sichuan Province Engineering Research Center of Colleges and Universities, 1 engineering training center and 3 university-level laboratories. The total area of the laboratories is around 6,500 m²with equipment worth more than 30,000,000 RMB. The faculty of the College has been granted more than 20 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) as well as provincial and ministerial level projects. More than 150 China National Invention Patents and Utility-model Patents were authorized. Meanwhile, over 100 papers, 20 monographs and teaching materials were published.
