Master of civil engineering and water conservancy
i. Training program
Category introduction
The master's degree in civil and hydraulic engineering is an engineering degree related to the qualifications in the civil and hydraulic industry. Civil and hydraulic engineering is a general term for the science and technology of designing and constructing various engineering facilities and related equipment. It not only refers to the object of engineering construction, that is, all kinds of engineering facilities built underground, above the ground and in the water; It also refers to the materials and equipment used and the professional technologies such as planning, survey, design, construction, management, monitoring, maintenance, repair and maintenance. Civil and hydraulic engineering is a discipline group with a long history, which is constantly injected with new connotation with the progress of social civilization and the development of science and technology. It has the dual attributes of theoretical science and technical science; Its fields include civil engineering (structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, bridge and tunnel engineering, disaster prevention and reduction engineering and protection engineering, municipal engineering, engineering construction and management), water conservancy engineering (hydrology and water resources engineering, water conservancy and Hydropower Engineering, port, coastal and offshore engineering, agricultural water and Soil Engineering), etc.
This field is to adapt to the construction of an innovative country, meet the needs of national major engineering projects and important scientific and technological research projects in building materials industry, transportation industry, water conservancy and hydropower industry, environmental protection and greening industry, safety protection industry, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery (facilities) and other related industries for high-level engineering application-oriented innovative talents, and cultivate solid and broad theoretical foundation and systematic and in-depth expertise in relevant engineering fields, High level professionals with the ability to solve complex engineering and technical problems, carry out engineering and technical innovation and organize and implement high-level engineering and technical projects.
The discipline of civil engineering and water conservancy in our university originates from the undergraduate major of civil engineering in 1995. It was approved as a key discipline at the school level in 2011. In 2013, it established the research platform of Sichuan University Engineering Research Center for disaster prevention and reduction of village and town construction. In 2014, it obtained the authorized point of master's degree in architecture and civil engineering. The first enrollment began in 2015 and was based on civil engineering and water conservancy in 2020. At present, there are 64 tutors in this discipline, including 12 professors, 20 associate professors, 48 tutors with doctoral degrees, 32 people, and national professional qualification certificates such as registered civil engineer (rock and soil), first-class structural engineer and first-class constructor; There are 41 off campus tutors, including 3 with senior professional titles and 22 with deputy senior professional titles.
Relying on the College of civil engineering, the College of water resources and hydropower and the College of architecture and urban rural planning, combined with the advantages of agriculture and forestry of our university, based on Sichuan, facing the southwest and radiating the whole country, aiming at serving the needs of the civil and water conservancy industry and featuring the construction of villages and towns, this discipline aims to cultivate and master solid basic theories and systematic professional knowledge of civil and water conservancy, and understand the advanced technical means and methods in modern civil and water conservancy engineering, High level innovative engineering technology application and management talents with the ability to engage in scientific research, technology development and management in the field of civil and water conservancy.

(1) Scientific research integrity and morality
Scientific research integrity and ethics are generally arranged in the entrance education of graduate freshmen in September every year, which is carried out in the form of academic lectures by master's tutors with rich scientific research experience and rigorous scholarship, lasting 45 minutes. After the meeting, graduate students shall submit an ideological experience report of no less than 2500 words according to the contents of academic lectures.
(2) Mid term assessment
The mid-term assessment is generally arranged in the first half of the third semester. The training unit is responsible for setting up an assessment team to comprehensively examine the comprehensive ability, course learning, academic ethics and professional ability of postgraduates. Postgraduates must fill in the interim assessment form and complete the self-assessment summary and comprehensive knowledge assessment. The assessment team understands the overall situation of Postgraduates through the comprehensive knowledge assessment of postgraduates, combined with the review materials, and makes a conclusion of passing or failing the interim assessment. Only those who pass the mid-term examination can enter the opening report. Those who fail to pass the examination should generally be reexamined after half a year. Those who fail to pass the examination again should be reported by the college to the graduate school, and the training can be terminated and the student status can be cancelled according to the regulations.
(3) opening report
Graduate students studying for master's degree should choose the topic of their thesis under the joint guidance of school tutors and enterprise tutors, and master the latest developments in the field of subject research at home and abroad by consulting relevant literature.
The topic selection of a master's thesis for a professional degree should directly come from a certain significance to local economic construction or a clear engineering background. The research results should have practical application value. The problems to be solved in the thesis should have certain technical difficulties and workload. The thesis should have a certain theoretical depth and progressiveness, which can reflect the ability of graduate students to comprehensively use scientific theories, methods and technical means to solve practical engineering problems. It can be selected from the following aspects: the research and development of new processes, new materials, new products, new equipment, new technology or new software; Technical breakthrough, technical transformation, technical promotion and application; Introduce, digest, absorb and apply foreign advanced technology projects; Applied basic research and applied research topics; Planning or research of engineering technology projects or engineering management projects with a certain degree of complexity; Research or project implementation with a certain degree of complexity.
An opening report shall be made after the topic selection. In principle, the opening time shall be completed within the third semester after passing the mid-term examination. The discipline points form an expert group according to the professional direction to publicly review the opening report of graduate students in the form of a report meeting, and the review conclusion is passed or not.
If the opening report is not approved, it shall be revised and supplemented within one month and reopened. If the opening report is not approved for three times, the Institute shall report it to the graduate school, and the training can be terminated and the student status can be cancelled according to the regulations.
After the opening report is reviewed and approved, the implementation plan shall be formulated as soon as possible under the guidance of the tutor; At the same time, relevant materials of the opening report shall be submitted to the college for summary and archiving.
(4) Professional practice
1. Professional practice time: professional degree postgraduates carry out off campus professional practice in the 3rd ~ 5th semester, which can be carried out in the way of centralized practice or segmented practice. The professional practice time of graduate students with 2 years or more working experience in enterprises shall not be less than 6 months, and the professional practice time of graduate students without 2 years working experience in enterprises shall not be less than 1 year. The professional practice of part-time postgraduates can be carried out in combination with their own job tasks.
2. Professional practice place: ① practice base jointly established by the college and enterprises and institutions; ② The field experiment and practice base involved in the tutor's horizontal scientific research project; ③ A practice unit contacted by postgraduates and recognized by their tutors and colleges.
3. Professional practice content: the practice content can be engineering design, technical consultation, scientific research and test, etc.
4. Professional practice requirements: the off campus practice plan shall be jointly formulated by the on campus tutor and the off campus tutor, and the off campus professional practice plan form for full-time professional degree postgraduates shall be filled in; During the off campus practice, postgraduates shall register the specific contents of the practice in accordance with the registration form for off campus professional practice of full-time professional degree postgraduates, and regularly report the practice progress to the on campus tutor, who shall also regularly check the practice of Postgraduates in the practice unit; After off campus practice, graduate students shall write a summary report of off campus professional practice of no less than 8000 words.
5. Assessment requirements: the assessment team of the college evaluates the results according to the "qualified" and "unqualified" grades according to the comprehensive performance of Postgraduates in the practice period and the feedback of the practice base. Graduate students who pass the examination can get 6 credits, and those who fail will not be counted; If you do not participate in professional practice or fail to pass the professional practice examination, you shall not apply for the defense of your dissertation.
