Since the beginning of March, the College has launched the "Knowing Water in Mind, Protecting Water in Action" campaign in cooperation with Ya'an Water Bureau, Leibo County Chengguan Primary School and Zhougongshan Town Primary School, We have launch "fish and dragon leap making water into literature" water knowledge competition, "red water resources, we stride together" World Water Day theme collection of works, "source moisture people's livelihood, clear water flow" World Water Day speech contest, "water of interest" World Water Day garden party, etc., the total number of activities to participate in more than two thousand people.
Compete with others, Compete with elegance
Drips and drops are accumulated into rivers and lakes; every sentence is explained to demonstrate profound feelings. In the "fish and dragon leap making water into literature" water conservancy knowledge competition, more than 20 teams explained about China's red water conservancy projects, meritorious water conservancy figures, and the comprehensive use of water resources. Among them, team Go Go Go introduced the Xiao Lang Di Water Conservancy Hub Project in detail from the project overview, dam design, engineering construction, ecological benefits, and so on；team You Are Right introduced the concept of water conservancy project, and highlighted the historical background, engineering composition and human environment of Dujiangyan Water Conservancy Project.
The theme of the "red water resources, we stride together" World Water Day video collection is "learning red culture, continuing the spirit of water conservancy". The contestants will choose one of the fifty water conservancy scenic spots in the newly announced "Red Genetic Water Landscape List" in 2023 and introduce the red story, red culture and red spirit of red water conservancy projects by video recording. Among them, Wang Qiuyu, Sun Fengxin and other students' works, through the filming of the Anshun Red Memorial Hall in Shi Mian County, Ya'an, told the history of the sinking of Shi Dakai, the winged king of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, and the successful crossing of the Dadu River by the Red Army, leading the audience to review the thrilling battles and the hardships and difficulties when the Red Army crossed the Dadu River.
The essay campaign on the theme of red water conservancy guided students to draw spiritual nourishment and forward force from red water resources, and to walk the long march of water conservancy in the new era with a vigorous attitude. Xiang Yunshan wrote in her essay "New Era, Renewing the Glory of Water Resources", "As water conservators, the new era is the stage for us to show our talents. Youth in the face of opportunities need to take the initiative, do not hesitate, do not wait and see; in the face of difficulties, do not shirk, do not avoid; in front of the risk, active response, do not retreat, do not wait and see."
Ten Years of Trees, A Hundred Years of People
From March 21 to 25, the 11th Research and Support Group of Sichuan Agricultural University and the College of Water Resources and Hydropower student organizations carried out simultaneous teaching activities and "waste paper exchange the green, dripping water to moisten the shoots" theme activities.
The research group told the stories regarding to "water knowledge water environmental protection water science water culture" four contents to the students of Leibo County Chengguan Primary School about the history of China's modern water development, water conservancy projects, so that the children understand the red spirit and national spirit of the strong and unyielding, courageous Chinese water conservators carried by water conservancy projects for generations. The parallel teaching trip to Zhougongshan Town Primary School focused on popularizing the origin and knowledge of World Water Day, guiding children to save water and cherish water resources.
In the off-line waste paper collection activity, students bundled and packaged the waste paper and old books they had accumulated, and 6 pounds of waste paper could be exchanged for green plant seeds, and the germination of the seeds was recorded by watering them with rainwater and water used for washing fruits. The students felt the fun of "planting and protecting greenery" and the sustainability of "low-carbon life and green development". In this activity, more than 3,000 pounds of waste paper and books were collected and exchanged for more than 500 seeds of green plants. Through this activity, we not only advocated a positive, healthy, civilized and upward lifestyle to teachers and students, but also enriched the campus cultural atmosphere and cultivated students' awareness of environmental protection from the smallest details.
Travel Together, Learning through Fun
The "water of interest" World Water Day tour will promote water knowledge and culture in the form of games, closely following the theme of "cherishing and protecting water", with a total of "ping pong dragon ", "blindfolded water touching", "useing hands and feet", "dragonfly pointing water" and "water protection battle " and other five programs. Among them, "water protection battle" has become the most popular game among the students, participants need to work in pairs, two people respectively blow up the balloon with water, so that the balloon stuck to the inside of the paper cups to avoid the paper cups fall, and back-to-back clamping a balloon to the end. In the games "Blindfold Touching Water" and "Dragonfly Spotting Water", participants had to answer water-related questions to get more chances to play the games, and students were all energetic for this, and the scene was also enthusiastic.
At the same time, the College of Water Resources and Hydropower, together with Ya'an Water Resources Bureau, carried out a speech contest on the theme of "source moisture people's livelihood, clear water flow". 10 students were selected from the preliminary rounds, and after a wonderful speech and fierce competition, Pan Nan, the speaker with the theme of "Everyone saves a drop of water, and it becomes a clear water flow. After that, Pan Nan, the speaker with the theme of "Everyone saves a drop of water, and it becomes a clear water flow for the world", won the first prize in the end. "Back to ourselves, for all of us, water conservation is a must in life: after washing your hands, turn on the tap; when brushing your teeth and washing your face, turn on the tap as you go, etc. Although they are just small things, they have great significance. The water of life, I hope you and I love it!" At the end of his speech, Pan Nan made a sincere appeal to the teachers and students of the college.
It is reported that this series of activities based on "water culture", highlighting the effectiveness of activities to educate people, strengthen the College students to understand the knowledge of water conservancy, cultivate the awareness of water conservation, increase the reserve of professional knowledge, the concept of "water conservation in mind, water conservation in action" into the lives of students and teachers, showing the good spirit of the College students.
